Hi
You and me owing 10+ iPhones since 2007.
However we paid £199 in 07/08 and approx £500 for iPhone 5 these £1000 smartphones as preciously mentioned are getting to the boundaries of "if this value for money".
12 month warrantee, I say, if on edge, I'm being pushed over.
I need value for money and put myself in a working mans shoes.

Many people don't have such cards, you sound like a rich man.
Normal folk are not likely to get one just for the new iPhone 10th.
I recommended iPhone to all my staff since 2007, over the years they have "seen the light" and bought into iOS, now I'm thinking did I guide them down the wrong road?.

Cost of everything goes up. Here in the US if you want more than 1 year, you pay for it. I hear you get more in your country, but you DO pay for it.

I could see it maybe as an expensive purchase.
But a cellphone is a consumer good.
Its not any form of investment.
Some of you act like you're buying a house.

I think your being pedantic, we all know we wont get a "return" on investment in a financial sense, but some of us may get a return in terms of productivity.
Cheers

Eh, that's not possible. You've forgotten. Apple has never charged for software update & locked can't be sim free. Sim free means it's unlocked and 199 was what you paid upfront along with a contract on o2.

I will put my life on it that apple charged for one software update in the UK approx 2007, 2008.
Re sim free I will struggle to find receipt, I still have original O2 bag "I've got one"
do you want me to proof it?

Inflation approx 2% a year, pretty good v other Countries. Brexix a problem, but overall all Okay.

You don't need to be a rich man to get one of those cards. Those cards are very well much worth their value too. Furthermore, most credit cards have extended warranty options.

They sound like rich man cards to me aka AMEX.
In UK we had Mr Bean advertising MasterCard with extended cover in the 80s.
youtube mr bean mastercard or Rowan Atkinson Mastercard. anyhow..
No UK credit card company, as far as I know, offer this now.

Yes a £1000 upgrade to stay in the ecosystem phone.
Not to be taken lightly.
You can buy a decent second hand car for that!

His roots may be connected to Richard Branson though.

In what way? Samesungs flagship phones sell less and less every year

They really do need to do this. Apple are pushing their luck as far as I'm concerned, there's gonna be a point where people are just gonna say no. Their competition is just getting stronger and stronger each year, so they're gonna be forced to switch things up and actually give their customers some real value for money.

AMEX isn't even a rich man's card. Maybe the Platinum card with its $550 AF, but keep in mind these cards offer tons of value too. You get $200 in airline credits, $200 in Uber credits, and free Global Entry/Pre-Check. Once you factor in cashback it might be worth it.

But even aside from the Platinum card or Centurion card, there are cards with no annual fee (e.g. Blue Cash) for AMEX. It has nothing to do with being rich.

Just because you aren't familiar with it or have a card, doesn't mean you should cast it aside and throw a bunch of FUD over it.
