Hi did something dumb and somehow dropped my phone against a counter corner before i caught it ... dented the area around the lightening port slightly .. do you get a new phone right now for apple care since there can't be any refurbs yet right?

No Screen Crack or anything just gotta muscle to get the lightening cable in and out ...

I believe they reserve some new stock for repairs from day one straight from the factory line to avoid back log of potential repairs.

I think you will be fine. I have AppleCare as well and wondered if it covers dents. I know it covers glass breakage, water damage, or complete destruction. I’ve heard they won’t replace glass that is just scratched. Will a dent count?

Wondering what others have claimed to get a replacement and where the line is drawn.

Book an appointment to go in. More than likely, they will simply replace it. Apple employees are often very nice about helping out, without 'hitting' your Apple Care first time.
