Do you think we will be able to buy it without signing a contract? I just renewed mine for the 3g when it came out and I don't want to sign again.

Probably not. They will most likely require a contract for a while.

AT&T will make you sign a new contract, you can that that to the bank

i'm assuming they will be available on ebay shortly after launch with no contract, albeit at high prices, no?

You can probably do what people did with the 3G.. Sign a new contract, get the phone at that price, cancel, pay the 200 cancel fee, keep the phone.

If you got a 3G iPhone under subsidized contract you most likely won't be eligible for a new iPhone at the reduced price until 18 months into that contract.
