Just got a new 30Gb, 5th gen iPod...it's very cool & everything but I've been wondering...do all iPod's battery drain completely within an hour?

I've read about things that can drain battery life, like EQ, but I find it very hard to watch a video on the iPod with the backlight off, btw with the backlight off it makes good use of the battery, never ran out with the backlight off.

Does anyone else have this problem or should I contact Apple

Videos will drain the battery quicker. and the backlight is killer. doesn't surprise me.

That's too bad, makes watching full length videos nearly impossible without a computer to keep the battery charged :(

those videos will do it to you but i'll bet you will have longer life just listening to music.

Bless

Yep it's gone over 10 hours with a charge when I just leave it on shuffle, turn off the back light & stick it in my pockets, still the best mp3 player around ;)
