Its been my understanding that we see iPod updates every 6-8 months. With that in mind, is it likley we see another iPod update before or during the Christmas shopping season? I ask only because I have 24 gigs of music, all encoded in AAC, and im fairly sure that a 30 gig ipod would fill up very quickly. Is it likley that the next gen iPod will have a high end model with a 30gb+ hard drive? somethin along the lines of 40gb-60gb?

would definatley like to get peoples input. I have been considering buying a new iPod for a while!

all my tunes are on my 17" PB - and i dont want them to eat up any more space

buyers guide says mid product cycle...

personally i wouldn't think they would upgrade them anytime soon. it seems like the new ones just came out. but who knows...maybe they would do a minor hard drive upgrade throughout the line...

by they way, that is quite the amount of songs!!!

There are rumors that a 40GB iPod may be on the way.

Take it with a grain of salt though.

i hope so

the price isnt whats limiting me rather its the size of the HD

i know that id be able to fill that 30 gb pod in less then 4 months

thats not a comforting reality to be faced with

hopefully a 40gb version will out intime of the christmas season

who knows, maybe Apple will drop the price of it.
