If music only, even a 128 is overkill (it is for me, at least) but if you have lots of other apps, you might like the increased storage.
On an iPod Touch? You're braver than I.Extra 256G storage is relevant if you use a 3rd party app that can pass through Hi-res 24/96 to a DAC. But for 16/44.1 or 16/48 ALAC, 128 GB is more than enough

It’s not that rare. A lot of people pair iPod touches with external DACs like the Fiio Q5. Most DAPs have terrible and slow UIs so a snappy thin iPod makes a good combo.
With that case, maybe should’ve gotten three different colors so you could easily tell?I just came back from the Apple Store, with 3 256 gb space gray iPod Touches...can’t wait to load all my tunes on there, trying to decide how to divide and what not to add since I have over a terabyte of music.
