iPod touch New iPod Touch Coming?

Well one user says September for the new iPod Touch. That is 6 months away or half a year. I'd say buy one now and start buying apps for it, then when the new one comes you can just sell your current iPod Touch and get the new one, and you will still be able to keep and use all the apps you bought.

Jobs said that when he introduce the iPad that they are willing to put that chip in iPhones and iPods Touch, so it could be more likely that they will be launch together on june.

But anyway if someone would like to buy a Touch I wouldn't say to way for the new one, the current one still a good product.

It may be a while yet, and even if the new one were to come out in a few months, I don't think there will be too many improvements beyond speed and perhaps the form factor, if the new iPhone pictures floating around are for real. There's always the possibility of a camera, but I really doubt it (still, that would be a sell for me - I'm tired of using a Nano I don't own when I need a camera). Right now the iPod Touch is a really great product, and even if you're going to be doing heavy gaming or something, it is very capable as is. It's a great PDA, a great game system and a great MP3 player. Buy it

If you can get a good price sure but the A4 chip is twice as fast on average as what is currently in the phones and touches. A iTouch with the A4 in it would be a serious hand held gamer. Still what I want is a mini iPad in the 6-7 inch range screen. I don't expect the touch refresh to be larger but I do expect Apple to move the A4 into the entire line.

alright that all makes sense. how likely is an ipod touch in june though to go out with the iphone? i think its quite possible and likely to happen cause the fact that this last update was so small.

Even after last year's pathetic release, Apple is unlikely to break their release cycle. Expect a new touch in September.

can you clarify...? the way you say this is as if it's already out and available..

Well, when Apple finally does release the camera-equipped touch, it will be in the center.

It's not out but a while back the teardown showed that there was an apparent mounting hole for it in the bezel or frame at the center. the new camera chips may fit into it now.
