I say No.

It's simply an iPod touch as we know it. Best buy does NOT get pre-release apple products more than one day in advance of their release and certainly their ad department does not.

Besides looking exactly like the current iPod touch, the reason against this being an "MacBook touch" leak is that it is the same size as the current touch.

I'm sorry, this is not news and not exciting. But thanks for your enthusiastic efforts.

If it were the next iPod Touch, it would have firmware 2.0, and there is no app store in the picture above.

They never actually line all these items up and put big yellow tags on them to take a picture of for the magazine you know... Obviously they used a photoshoping program to put the products in, just like every other magazine. So yeah, the screen proves nothing.

No chance Best Buy has pics in advance. Only thing they would get is new model numbers in their computer and that would leak way before pics.

hmm. This looks like an iphone without a earpiece.. But who knows?? It would be good to see an iPhone next to the 2 comparisons on the blog

probably just a mistake. where is the app store? Maybe they had access to this photo before the 11th...

if anyone would care to remember the secrecy over iPhone 3G - with Apple sending sealed boxes of display models to retailers not to be opened until release date, i hardly think they are going to give Best Buy an image to incorporate into their adverts. Apple may as well post it on their own website titled 'Super Secret New iPod Touch' for all the care any retailer would take to keep the new look touch a secret. Also, it would be far too early for them to circulate images for adverts considering the iPod almost certainly wont be released until september.

It is not real and is clearly a photoshopped iPhone.

Graphic designer making the photo fit to the page is all this is. The old hold shift, grab corner of image, and pull to liking. Best Buy to leak the first photo of the new iPod touch, not likely.

Apple's website has the offer, which I'm sure you all know, buy a mac get a free iPod Touch. This ends around mid-September, which is when Apple ussualy (if not always) updates their iPod line, wether major or minor updates.

That picture looks very blurry, and does look photoshopped. Some users make good points, such as if it was new, it would include 2.0 (like the iPhone 3G currently does) but it doesn't.

And it's rather early to be seeing supposedly 'leaked' photos.

Well the picture was not photoshopped by me. You can go to www.bestbuy.com and look at the weekly ad, page 17.
