Has any heard if the physical dimensions for the new iPod touch is identical or not to the previous generation? I'd like to get an Otterbox for my new 128GB touch due to arrive Monday, but they don't list if it will fit or if the case needs to be re-designed.

They're identical in size and config according to Apple specs. I bought the ULAK® Extreme Heavy Duty Shock-Proof Outdoor Case Cover Apple iPod Touch 5th from Amazon (should arrive when my 128Gb touch shows up next week).

Umm hold on. Close. But not exactly.

They may be listed as having the same identical dimensions (Width, Height, Thickness etc). But they are not exactly the same chassis. I know, cuz I love my iPod Touch 5th gen with its LOOP, and have a slim-case that accommodates the loops.

Well, the loop feature has physically been removed for the 6th Gen iTouch (aka the 2015 iTouch). That is a physical change right there. But I'm hoping it's the only physical change in the chassis.

Here is a perfect example of a 5th Gen iPod Touch case with the loop-hole. Hahaha. Get it? Loophole. lolz

Your 6G arrived already??

I received a 128GB Space Grey on Friday. It's a gift for my Son.

I prefer a thiner case that just adds some grip, but the defender makes sense for him, particularly when hiking.

The Poetic cases are thin. They are not bulky at all. Of course that means minimal protection and the assumption that you are not clumsy. I love the Poetic case for my current 5th Gen iPod Touch. Will email them if they are planning to update or add some cases for 6G. If not, then I will shop for a different brand case.

So my 128 Gb iPod touch 6th Gen. just arrived and I promptly put it in the 5th Gen ULAK® Case Cover. It fits perfectly!
