iPod touch New iPod Touch - What do you use for protection?

How will you protect your shiny new iPod Touch 4G?

  • No protection - straight out of the box and onto my ears

When you get home from the store or the postman delivers your shiny new iPod Touch 4G, do you:

1. Use it as is with no case or protection?
2. Just a screen cover (zagg, other)?
3. Full body cover (skin/zagg/other)?
4. Hard Case without screen protection?
5. Hard Case with a screen cover?

Just curious if others are as over cautious as I am (#5).
 
I'll leave it completely uncovered to admire it for the first hour, two hours, day. I probably won't put it down or in my pocket anyway because I'll be using it XD. But before I put it down on something that could scratch it, put it in my pocket, or take it outside, the case is going on. (I might wait to put the screen protector on until I have to put it in my pocket)
 
Depends on whether there are any protectors or cases available when I get my Touch. :(

Did you order it online or are you going to an Apple retail store? There will probably be one's at the store for all the new iPods. I'm hoping they'll have a Belkin Grip Vue that I can pick up with my iPod.

Gonna pick it up at Best Buy tomorrow (hopefully). I'm a bit picky about my cases, so depending on what they have on the shelves, it's likely I'll be stuck with just the stock film over the screen until I find something more suitable.

I'm in the same boat. I waited a week to use my gen 1 touch until my invisible shield and contour showcase arrived - both of which are not on the market yet for the Gen 4. Sold my gen 1 touch yesterday - a 2cnd gen nano just isn't the same.
 
I'll get a quality back protector when they come out - want to avoid so scratched back when resale rolls around.
 
I'm waiting for my full body shield to arrive. What's the best, cheap solution for protecting the back until then? Tape? Lots of saran wrap?
 
Im planning on getting a RebelTouch (or other Switcheasy product), and putting on the screen protectors it comes with.

Dont trust my floor. ;)
 
I'm not taking my ipod touch out of the house until I buy some type of case and screen protector for it. I'm not a fan of taking unnecessary risks, especially with a $230 device.

That being said, does anyone know off hand if there is some kind of film that comes on the screen to begin with? Just curious I guess.

Yes, there's a film initially out of the box.

If you're not picky, it seems like Best Buy already has cases available. They're pretty basic and not exactly on the pretty side, though.

I won't have any money for a case until later this month, so I'll have to use it naked until then. :\
 
What kinds of cases does Best Buy have, and what cases exist for pre-order? Maybe we could start a list in the OP or something.
