tablo13 macrumors 65816 Oct 4, 2011 #4 I'm also curious about this. Does Apple call the latest iPod touch 5th generation?
Y yliu macrumors regular Oct 4, 2011 #5 They haven't changed anything, except added a white one, and their website doesn't say it's the "new" iPod touch. So I think it's still the old 4th generation and let's hope apple still have something to reveal later this year.

Just above the iPod touch on this page is the image below that says "NEW" ^^^^ That one.

In that case it's "New" as in check inside there have been a few changes, not New in the regular sense of the word new.

Chundles macrumors G5 Oct 8, 2011 #11 It's the same. Same product number and everything. The reason for the New label is the white option. There is no 4.5G or 5G iPod touch. It's a current 4G iPod touch.

zap2 macrumors 604 Oct 8, 2011 #12 Yup, same device, just color for each model and price point change on the 8GB model. Still a good device, but I'd like an upgrade to a better camera, an A5 and more RAM, and hopefully 128GB model.
