This page makes it pretty clear... FireWire is NOT supported, except possibly for charging purposes. It would seem that the picture is in error in showing a FireWire cable with the new iPod.

I hope it supports firewire. I mean my computer is like only 2-3 years old so it doesnt have usb2.0. That and I have a lot of music like 30+ gigs so if I would have to load it through a super slow usb1.1 line i'll be kinda pissed not gonna lie
