as most know, the newer ipods (video, photo) only ship with usb cables. well, i had a 4gb ipod problem and I was eventually shipped a new 60gb photo ipod (Thanks apple!)

All i want to know now is can i use the firewire jack to charge it from an outlet, or can i only use the USB cable to charge from an outlet? Is it different for an nano? thanks~!

You can charge a 5g iPod via firewire, but not sync it via firewire.
