Don't the new iPods usually update along with the iPhone announcements? Just curious.

New iPods have only been announced in the past few years along with new iPhones. It is likely that the new watch pushed the iPod out of the picture causing them to possibly get updated during the iPad presentation.

Makes sense. I lost my Nano and am debating to get one now or wait.

Yea, plus new iPads!

Actually, I just looked at the October 2013 event and it looks like it was an iPad/Mac event. I'm not sure if they will add iPods this year...

Well usually they're added along with iPhone, but as mentioned with the watch they didn't. If nothing in October then I'll go get one.

A7 is the 64-bit CPU that powers the iPhone 5S and iPad Air. Metal is the API layer that offers less overhead to do fancy graphics than OpenGL. Think of it as OpenGL but on a diet and steroids.

Games on a Nano?

That's why I was confused when someone mentioned all this stuff about the A7

The A series CPUs are used in the Touch, not the Nano and the Shuffle. They hope that the new Touch gets an A7 CPU for the newly released high end / console quality games.

One thing I would like to see is an updated shuffle. Heres my vision: make it a little taller (not wider) and bring back the 4GB capacity.
