This christmas I got : A new laptop (will receive monday) and a new 32 gig itouch!

I previously had a Ipod, but it had a hardware failure and could not get new songs on it.

My question is this... How can I put all the songs from the itunes that is associated with my old Ipod on to the new Itouch? I'm mostly concerned with the songs I purchased on itunes.

If the old iPod is still visible in iTunes, and all the music/videos on it are purchased through iTunes, you simply need to authorize the new computer, and use Transfer Purchases from iPod under the file menu to copy the files. If the computer you synced the iPod with still works, you can copy the iTunes folder to the laptop using an external hard drive or file sharing or use the Home Sharing feature to cut through all that. If you don't have the old computer anymore and the majority of the music/video content on the iPod isn't through the iTunes Store you can try something like Senuti to allow access to the iPod's drive.

Also, if the old computer works, set up the iPod touch to sync music/video with it, then use the transfer purchases option to bring it into iTunes on your new computer.

To summarize what the above said:

Plug your new ipod into your old computer and sync all music ( or only what you've purchased).
Plug the iPod into your new computer. It will ask if you want to erase and sync your iPod, and also ask if you want to transfer your purchases. Say yes, and your purchased music will go from your iPod touch to your computer. When you try to play, it will ask for your iTunes password (first time only). Type it in, and et voila. ;) good luck!
