iBooks doesnt support pdf's currently, that's why. You need to wait for the update.

Isn't it the app update that you're waiting for rather than the iTunes update?

I'd imagine the app will be updated when iOs 4 is out.

    OP -

Don't feel bad; I also assumed the same thing. It seems very odd to me to separate your company into separate secret divisions that don't know what each other is doing, because then you have different product segments with different functionality.

This is iTunes update, not iBooks app update. PDF will be supported in iBooks 1.1. iTunes != iBooks.

Steve clearly revealed to the whole world that this would be in the iBooks update, not theitunes update. It is not half anything if it was not meant to do what you think in the first place.

    Stupid.

Not secret at all. They announced it before the whole world. This would be an iBooks update. Don't blame others because you failed to pay attention.

Who's this Steve guy? Why didn't they update iBooks and iTunes concurrently so things actually work? Too logical I guess.

Because it makes logical sense to update iBooks and iOS concurrently. Is it so hard to comprehend when people like Steve lay things out clearly?

A thread complaining that iBooks hasn't shipped with the new iTunes when this was never promised, rofl.

This confusion is because the iTunes update refers to iBooks and pdf support.

i cant wait to put all the books i torrented (already own hardcopies) into ibooks, without painfully trying to convert them to epub.
does anyone know if the pdf's will get the same UI as the books bought from the ibooks store?
    i love the page turning:D
