Dont they just mean you have to plug it in and run code from your computer as opposed to being wireless? Only do it once.
It means you can NEVER reboot your phone without being plugged in and running the jailbreak again.

Hello
Ive been using MR for a few weeks now and its really great. Everyones help and input is greatly appreciated thanks.
I've been scrolling through these threads accross several pages of the hack topic.
Please can anyone recommend the best thread or resource for a person new to iphone hacking to get started, how to do it and best service to use, etc.
I have been looking and using the search engine but most of it comes accross as very complicated language and tech walkthrough.
I have an Iphone 4 on UK Vodafone which I want to use on UKO2 instead... I understand I can only do this on software version 4.0 at the moment and this is absolutely fine - I just need to know where the info is to do it.
Thanks for your time and help in advance and sorry if posting this annoys anyone.
Chris
Agreed. I felt the pain of a tethered Blackra1n jailbreak a while back. It randomly rebooted on the way to work, and i had no phone for the whole day. TORTURE.no way am I going back to a tethered jailbreak..bad memories of relying on the gps and the phone reboots while driving, with no laptop around to re-jailbreak it![]()

Update 2: Some facts
- We have not yet announced if this is tethered or untethered
- We have not yet announced details about the exploit
- Anything you read saying it is one of the above in definite terms is just speculation, again, we have not given official word about the tether status or any details regarding the exploit used.
For now the exploit they use in the bootrom to mess around with code needs to be reapplied with every boot. So for now any jailbreak would be a tethered one. Unless they use the current exploit to find another exploit that results in a untethered jailbreak.
