Get access to a shell, install naim and screen, then use a web-based SSH service to SSH into the shell. If it gets around the lockouts on my gov't PC, it'll work at a school.

ummmmm, say again!

plus, its a universitys office, not like a dorm or computer lab.

1) There's no shell on a Windows box.
2) If you want to possibly get fired, then by all means follow this advice.

Circumventing security (right or wrong) is a bad idea. It's there for a "reason" (right or wrong), and unless you're in IT, I would heartily warn you off trying to do whatever the **** you want to do. It's not your computer, it's a computer owned by your company/university.

circumventing IT protocols is a fireable offense.

Congrats on the new job.

For iTunes theres this small handheld thing that works pretty well. It has white headphones. I don't remember the name but I think we're going to hear big things from it in the future. :D

Even if you install iTunes it may not work that well. My work PC cannot access certain radio stations. Better to use that handheld thingy.

im using my ipod on my desk as we speak. because its not formatted for windows, it only shows up as a network drive needing formatting.

problem is, the battery WILL run out while im working one day. and when I plug it into a USB port to charge, i lose my music playing ability as it says "Do not disconnect".

so i got a working solution, just not a great one.

and all the Expose clones, are either payware, buggy, or slow.
