So I ordered the Smart Cover with my new 10.5" Pro when preorders started, and received almost a week earlier then iPad like a lot of people. I'm wondering if anyone else is having an issue with the earliest batches of Smart Covers, particularly the Leather one, where the Leather is peeling off the hinge where it attaches to the iPad. Currently on the phone with AppleCare trying to get this figured out, but it seems the first people who answer the phones don't know how to handle a return or replacement like this.

Just looked at mine, no peeling. Just take it back to the store and they will replace it. My cover got here before the 10.5.

The cover has a warranty, use it.

Closest store is an hour away. Either which way, after 2 hours on the phone with Apple, I'm getting a swap done in the mail. The hardest part was trying to explain to three different people that Apple is in fact the manufacture of the Smart Covers.

Now it seems I should have just gone to the store and saved an hour of my life, and anger and frustration.

Glad you got it worked out.

3 years? May I gently suggest retirement?
That's a bit harsh don't you think? @fricotin is young and has many productive years ahead. A simple change in jobs is probably all that is needed. :)

Seriously though, smart covers are, IMO, obscenely expensive. Using a spot of gorilla glue on the existing one is a better option than dishing out another $40+

Thanks for suggestion. in Canada, the **Smart Case** including taxes costs $111 or about $US85. It is nicely patinated and I'd like it to last at least another year.
