Lifeproof Nuud Iphone 5

Hey Guys! Just picked up the new Lifeproof Nuud for the Iphone 5. First impressions: Nice! I like the clear back to really show off the phone itself. I like how they hooked the audio plug to the case but only time will tell on how long that might last. All buttons feel great. Touching the screen is awesome, no more bubbly effects or oil slicks ever again! What I noticed is that they added a rubber seal around the edges where the screen is on the inside of the front cover. I also installed the screen protector they gave with the case. It is a little short around the edges but I think it will be fine. Overall, well worth the extra 10 bucks over the Fre!

Is the back a hard plastic or soft like the fre's front screen?

Also, how is the clarity of the screen? Is it like the zagg that has the wavy effect?

The back is like a hard plastic. The clarity of the screen is is crystal clear. Nothing like the zagg at all.
 
How is the border around the screen? That is the one thing that is going to annoy me about this case I think (like the OB defender). For iOS7 with control center and then notification center, it is going to be harder to swipe up or down those menus.

Is texting or using the screen in the corners annoying? I know they cannot make it nuud and waterproof without this border, but I love the full flat front of the regular fre. It is also much easier to clean I would guess (the fre).

That is awesome that you got yours already, mine says shipping to store (on the way). You should take a video of the case!
 
Can u test the sound quality?

How is it on speakerphone vs earpiece?

Can u hear people clearly and can they hear you clearly?

Better than fre or about the same or worst?
 
I think Lifeproof really put it together this time. The border of the phone is slightly better than the OB defender case. Sliding the notificiation from the top is pretty easy, no more putting pressure down on the top. Sound quality is great. No more buzzing in the earpiece like the Fre case. People can hear me no problem. Music sounds great! I hope you guys get yours soon.
 
If u turn the volume all the way up, does the back vibrate causing the buzzing sound from the speakerphone?

Maybe next step if water test it :)
 
I am actually thinking about taking the plunge on this one too. I currently have the Cellhelmet, but the edges are getting frayed. I also have a anti glare screen on it that I love. Curious how you like it.
 
How is the home button? I see its covered in a HARD plastic now? Is it loose feeling or is it pretty solid.. Does it wobble around with your finger or not?

Thats my only concern is will the home button get loose overtime or fall out

The back still vibrates a little but nothing like the Fre case at all. It doesn't sound muffled either which is good.

I was a little iffy on the home button when I first installed the case. It was very hard to press before the back piece was put on. Now that the whole case is put together, it feels very similar to the Fre case. Nice tactile feedback and easy to use. It's in their pretty good and I really don't think it will ever pop out. It doesn't wobble at all
 
If anyone still has the Frē,when you get the nuud could you please see if the Frē rear part fits with the nuud front? I'm thinking about ordering the rear casing and mixing it with the black nuud.

Can anyone do a check and see how it fits with a glass screen protector already installed? I'm sure not gonna remove mine for the case.
 
Damm u Best Buy. I was all excited to get my Nuud on, getting ready to go pick up the case. As soon as I got in my truck, get a call from Best Buy, saying they have to cancel my order, due to them having no stock. :(
 
Did a water test. Everything looks and seems ok. As far as the home button looking crooked, I guess your right lol. I never really noticed until now. It still works good tho
 
anyone who uses mounts know if this will work with the current FRE mounts?

i'll be honest i like my fre quite a bit so i can't imagine buying this without needing to, BUT a fre without the plastic screen cover is kinda tempting if its interchangeable with my bike mounts.

I had called lifeproof today to check on my order. The customer service rep. told me without me asking that you can use the Fré backs on the nüüd case
 
That's what I was thinking too. I may just drop $30 for the rear piece of the Frē and put away the clear one if its compatible. Does anyone know which part of the Nuud is the headphone port connected to? Front or rear. I know it's on the bottom but since it is connected (finally!) I'm wondering.
UNLESS ANYONE WANTS TO SELL ME THEIR BLACK REAR FRĒ PIECE:)

I just got mine at a best buy 30 minutes away. This is the best life proof I've ever had ! I've had every one since they came out. They defiantly hit a home run this time ! It's about time !!!!!

I verified with lifeproof that the Nuud works with all existing Fre accessories

everything is attached to the front
