I will be buying the 'consumer' release of Lion and doing a clean install because I am not a 'registered developer'. I am a games developer but I don't pay to develop for the Mac platform.
I fully intend to pay for Lion the second it goes on sale, however I'm not going to waste money on the developer account because I intend to develop a Mac app next year and don't want to waste the time on my account (yearly renewal). I am a student after all and need to save all the pennies I can!
To the people who are on their high horse about people downloading the GM version and not being a 'paid developer' I offer you a swift middle finger.
