Hi, I just recently bought a mac book pro and have never used a mac before, so I'm still a bit lost. But I have a maxtor one touch 4 external hard drive that I was using to backup my old pc and i can transfer files from my hard drive to my mac but i can not transfer files from my mac to my hard drive. So I was wondering how to fix this? thanks so much!

Your Windows drive is formatted as NTFS and OSX will only read it, not write it natively
You can use a 3rd party solution like NTFS-3G to add this capability to your Mac
