New Mac Mini 2009 running at 2560x1600

If you are using a Mac Mini to do some Final Cut work I'd HIGHLY ADVISE YOU TO PASS on the Mac Mini. I purchased one of the 2009 Mac Mini models and the render time is horrendous. It takes about a minute to render one simple transition.
If you're using the Mini for some light work or just for web browsing, etc. I'd recommend it. If you're using it for the big things, I'd advise you to pass on it. If you don't want to believe me, take this Mini off my hands at retail so I don't have to eat the 10% restocking fee! 🙁😎

Apple Retail and Apple online are separate, you can't buy online then return in-store... not in my experience anyway.

ha no... as long as you do as Spanky Deluxe said and provide proof of purchase and whatever, should be fine.
So I got all my hardware hooked up, everything worked fine for a few days but now I am beginning to notice the issues the Dual-Link DVI adapter has...
Such as the flickering and snowy screen, it rarely happens but it still is annoying when I have to put the computer to sleep or unplug the cables to get it working again.
The flickering happens maybe every few hours for just a split second which isn't a big deal, but the snowy screen is a hassle.
My question is should I even bother taking the adapter into a apple store for an exchange or should I hold out for a software fix?
Overall I am enjoying my new Mac mini and 30" display even with these issues. 😎

Mate I am going for exatly the same setup as you. Have you tried lowering the resolution to say 1600x1200? If so, does the issue still happen?
What type of 30" screen do you have? (apologies if you've said this before)
Well they released a s/w update for the VGA adaptor, so I can't see why they couldn't do the same for ours 😕
I haven't tried lowering the resolution, and I really don't want to - I spent over a grand on this monitor and I want to run it at full rez haha..

I've got a Samsung 305T Plus. I can't see why people with 30" cinema display's wouldn't have this problem as it obviously seems to be adapter related.

Been doing some digging on Apple's support website and have found this:

As you can see on the page, it clearly says that it will work with any 30" screen, such as the 30-inch Apple Cinema Display HD. It's doesn't say that it ONLY works with Apple's product. 😎

Just a quick question guys..
I'm planning on picking up the Mini and adding two 19" widescreens (each running at 1440x900).
Now will I need the buggy Dual Link DVi adaptor or can I run one display though the miniDVI port and the other using a miniDP to DVI (Single) adaptor?

You should be able to use the mini-DVI to DVI converter that came with your Mini for one screen, and then get the mini-DisplayPort to DVI converter. So think of it as a dual-head card in the Mini. You don't need the mini-Displayport to Dual-DVI converter. As you've seen in this thread, it appears to be buggy.
Just wanted to check if there were updates on this topic. I am considering buying a mac mini soon (like tomorrow 😀) and outputting it to my dell 30" but like mentioned in this thread i am a little concerned about the dual link adapter. How are the ppl using this setup finding the performance? Does it work and is it worth it?
