Because it's looking less and less like they will ever update it. 521 days and counting...

it is $800 for he 2ghz and $800 for the $600

The RAM is optional. You don't need to buy any to buy your computer, and, in fact, it doesn't come with any configured! Imagine the thousands of complete idiots who return their computers because they won't turn on...
