Mini Displayport to VGA.

Monoprice has one for $10. Apples is $29.

Yes it will.

Your ports should look like the one on the right and the one on the left.

Probably, but we use generic ones at our Uni and never had any problems, I wouldnt spend any more money especially if you are only outputting VGA.
