New Mac, new video camera? Suggest?

I realize this thread is several days old (or at least this post in this thread), but since I am trying to search and read, I don't think the 3rd bullet point under HDV advantages is correct. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, my bad. FCE cannot edit HDV natively (only FCP can).

Yes, not totally correct. Final Cut Pro can natively edit HDV video, but Final Cut Express can't (it has to transcode to AIC). And none of Apple's NLE packages will do native AVCHD editing, currently.
