In a Toaster
Hi all,

Has anyone who owns a new Mac Pro noticed any squealing noises when the unit is under load or transferring large amounts of network traffic?

I only noticed this just recently after copying over 3TB of data over the network. Not if there is something on my desk that might be causing interference or something isn't right with the internals like the fan.

Interesting. I know (and owned) the old G5's would create the infamous "cricket" noise from the power supply when under load, or doing odd tasks (like resizing a window in OS X).

Could be the PSU then maybe? If it is the Mac Pro itself, it DEFINITELY isn't normal.

There were some reports of squealing a few months back. Search the forums.
