I'm on the verge of ordering one of the new Mac Pros, and want to check that the Nvidia GT120 will work with both my monitors. I'm using the 'generic monitor cables' for both of them at the moment on the stock video card on my dual 2.3ghz G5. I'm assuming the new MPs will be fine with connecting both monitors from the off, but the wording on the apple site is a bit ambiguous so I wanted to check first. :)

sorry, but you need an adapter.

the card includes one DVI connector and one mini display port.

IF both your monitors are DVI you need an optional $29 adapter for the mini display to make it DVI for monitors up to 1920X1080 (24" displays), or if you run a 30" off the port you need a $99 adapter for mini display to Dual Link DVI

Thanks - I'm using a crappy old Advent ADV15T monitor which only has 'normal video cable' - I'm presuming VGA. The other one is a new Dell 23/24inch widescreen with DVI connection - although I'm using a VGA cable with that at the mo. So I'm gonna have to fork out for an adapter - just to use two monitors in a 'pro' computer that'll cost me nearly 4grand in the first place?

    Naughty apple...

How about a nice 24" Cinema Display to replace your aging VGA monitor? :p

Awesome! I'll PM you my PayPal details...

So just to clarify - I'll be using two monitors, either both VGA or one VGA/one DVI.

Looking at that product page, all I need is to plug the Dell into the DVI port, and the Advent through a vga switchy cable to the 'mini displayport'.
I may have a vga switchy cable anyway - attaching the VGA monitor to my G5...

You really need to read up mate, you wont have a convertor for display port on your G5 as Display port has only been released this year on macs.
