New Mac user- Help!

Hi guys, I just bought a Macbook Pro 2011 and have not used a Mac more than a few times. If you have any specific things I should know, any help would be great

One specific question I haven't found an answer too, will my Mac notify me of any suspicious or phishing websites if I am using Mozilla Firefox, like it will with Safari?

My advice is to just use it - you'll pick stuff up by just doing that. I did.
