I found it on Amazon for $99. Certainly not NeoOffice pricing, but only $20 more than Apple charges for iWorks, and Office 2008 includes 5 licenses if you end up getting more Macs in the future. As I mentioned earlier, with a wife and daughter that don't have the patience to learn new software, it made the switch from PC a bit easier for them, allows me to port work files to my home if necessary, and it really isn't bad software.

Well, it arrived!
Been messing about a bit and getting used to things and it much easier than i thought. So far i have only installed the 4GB ram, done a little web browsing, checked settings, setup my e-mail and played with garage band.
Is there anyway to constantly have the sound input device always on? I rarely use the mic and am always messing about on my guitar, but i can only hear what i'm playing when recording. There is also a hell of a delay which makes recording impossible.
Apart from that, i think its bloody brilliant so far.

Dude, the mac you ordered will be better then the perfect computer for what you like to do.
Macs are great for photo and video editing.
some tips
1) USE ADIUM AS YOUR INSTANT MESSENGER CLIENT. If you use Live Messenger, don't bother downloading the windows version. Its awful. www.adiumx.com

3) I don't like office 2004 for mac. Its runs terribly on Intel macs. 2008 might be better, but I think iWork is the most fantastic office suite ever!
4) If its crashing or over heating or some other problem don't just think thats its what computers do. Some switchers think that. If your mac is having tons of problems (like a PC

08 is terrible, its lacking in features and backwards compatibility is a joke. Either get 04 or get iwork for word processing.
