Just got this Macbook and I really think the battery life is about 3 hours. Is that normal? My bro and uncle have the previous gen pro and that sucker must last for a 5 hour minimum.

go download an app called coconut battery it will tell you the current battery capacity vs the original and some other important things. if you bought it used it probably has a lot of cycles on the battery. if it is new apple will give you a new battery.
