I just got my new 1.8GHz, SSD MacBook Air a few days ago. Now I am looking for some accessories.

Would you recommend any that are a 'need'?

I am already going to be getting the SuperDrive and I have a sleeve.

But with that said, how about hard cases, films, protectors, ect? 🙂

The USB ethernet is quite useful, also if your into using external monitors and projectors the adapters are useful too.

I'd suggest a spare power adapter. I keep one at home and a spare in my backpack so I always have one on hand no matter where I am. I found a good deal on a barely-used one here on MacRumors.

I never thought of that, but that is a great idea! 🙂 I think I might do that

I do the same and I agree with the cable suggestions. An iPhone makes a nice accessory too!

Also, my previous PB 1.67GHz palm rest pitted so I think I'm going to grab the palm rest cover here:

I got a spare power adapter, a Tom Bihn bag, a WD Passport 320gb USB hard drive, the superdrive and this tiny USB hub: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=469617

I also use it with a USB WWAN card and tethered to my Blackberry.

I dont usually carry all that junk, but when I need it it is available.

Yes, my old MacBook Pro did that in the first couple weeks. I was searching around the web after you reminded me and found this palmrest cover I got ordered because it was that great: http://www.moshimonde.com/palmguard.htm It is very thin which is what got me.

And maybe Apple and AT&T will finally get legal tethering. But I do have NetShare 😛

I use an incase cover. Its the slip in, very thin and good protection.

Also recommend you get the usb - Ethernet connector. Some hotels i go to, the wireless is flacky and i need to plug in the old fashion way. Do not risk a crappy setup Wifi to get connected.

I use PDAnet on my iPhone, but its battery usage is unreal. You can almost watch the meter go down when you are tethered using it. The Blackberry can actually sustain tethering for a useful amount of time without completely compromising its ability to be used for the rest of the day.
