New MacBook Air keyboard layout?

On my Air the f12 button has the sign of the eject button. What the heck is it doing there? Obviously it will not eject any CD/DVDs, and it is not ejecting USB either.

I just don't think there are any CD/DVD's to eject, since its an Air without optical drive...

when the air is connected to the external superdrive, you press and hold the eject key to eject cds/dvds.

Yes, but if you use Remote install or a USB DVD drive, it will eject those CD's
