I ended buy this one due to my budget replacing my old 2010 MBP. I turned off the requirement for a password on startup under system preferences/security and privacy. I unchecked the Required Password box under the General Tab but it still asks for my login password when starting up.

2nd Question on my old MBP I have several OpenOffice sheets with formulas and lots of number would any of the apps on the new mac be able to use these IE: Pges or #'s, if not the I continue transfer of load the newest OpenOffice app. Thanks for any help.

You can change your login options by going to Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Options. It sounds like you want to use Automatic Login.

For your second question, you asked this in another thread and received some responses.
