New MacBook Air shipping and First Reviews!Post Here!

Order the stock low end 11.5 here at 4pm Eastern. I have a prepared for shipment, but no shipping yet.

I ordered this afternoon at 01:30 PM PDT and it shows 3-5 days on my order status. I ordered a fully equipped 11".

I just noticed my local Apple reseller (SimplyMac), who placed the order, used "Standard Shipping" instead of express. Does anyone know how much longer that usually takes? The only reason I didn't order direct myself is because I had a bunch of store credit from an iMac trade-in.

I'm trying to decide on whether or not to buy the new 11.6 inch MacBook Air. I thought it would be best to ask people that have already bought it, about it!

I have an iMac, iPhone, and iPad. The new 11.6 inch MacBook Air looks awesome, but what on earth would I use it for that I can't just do with my iPad? In other words, what's the point of the new MacBook Air?
 
Ordered 13.3 2.13, 4GB, 256GB at 3:20pm (Eastern). Slated to be delivered between 10/26 and 11/1 with 2-3 day shipping (North Carolina)

Best for travel, obviously. But also good for for lap work I would think.

I'd rather have an iPad myself as it's a better eReader. But this new Air may find a niche for me.

But most of all.

It's fun :D
 
I submitted my order the second the store went live. I was hitting refresh over and over. Order was submitted 11:53 PM Pacific Time:

No shipping yet on my BTO 2.13/4/256. But having purchased a MBP via BTO on release day, I'm pretty confident I won't see mine until the last date shown on my estimate, -1 day for expedited shipping. So if the advisement says "Oct 22 - Oct 28" then that likely means I won't see mine earlier than Oct 27.

The immediate shipments are likely going to consist primarily of stock configs.
