I am looking at the iPad Pro "11 with OLED and hope it costs about $1,000 to start. I am also curious how much that new Magic Keyboard will cost for the iPads.
Nah, hopefully the 11" will start at US$899 (or less) at 256 GB.

I'm also hoping they keep the keyboard pricing the same. BTW, do you guys prefer the Magic Keyboard or the Smart Keyboard Folio?

OLED ipad not working with current MK damn. Guess my ipad replacement will be with one that still works with current MK.

I don't see how they make the new iPad Pro Magic Keyboard trackpad larger while retaining the current floating design. If this rumor is indeed true, I suspect that they change the design to something similar to the 10th gen iPad folio keyboard. I actually hope this is true because not being able to use the iPad in "tablet" mode by wrapping around iPad caused me to go back to Smart Cover + external keyboard (not to mention the weight of the current Magic Keyboard).

I would love to get a 15” if it would support 4k displays running at 120hz or more. With the new 32” OLED monitors coming out with 240Hz support, that would be really important for me. I don’t want to have to get a thick MacBook Pro for that. Might have to end up getting a Mac Mini for the ultimate display support…

I think they will be moving the mini into the basic iPad bracket and serve it in sync. That way they can keep using the cheap BOE panels and keep the basic line LCD-only, while most customers expect OLED from Air and above.
I don‘t need much from the mini and I would totally buy it below the standard iPad‘s price point.

This could make for a killer education market entry.

The other rumour with a Chromebook competitor, I really hope that one comes into fruition with a revival of the widescreen 11-inch MacBook (Air). That would also be an insta-buy.
Never underestimate the benefit of being able to work on that one on an airplane, bus or train with little space around you.

I think we will get new AirPods as well.

Also hoping for a new Apple TV. With their latest push with gaming I suspect they are going to put their latest iPhone chip in the Apple TV.

That’s the event: TV, AirPods and iPads

I'm fine with it also if they at least reverse the panel orientation back to how it was in the Mini 5

The "jelly" effect is so much less noticeable, if at all honestly, on the Mini 5, due to the panel orientation
I actually returned the 6 because my mini 5 is just so ridiculously handy to hold with the case of the mini 4 I think it was. And it's possible to take off the cover separately. For the surcharge of the mini 6 (and the jelly scrolling was quite visible - I think that was a Samsung/LG panel vs BOE and super visible) I didn't feel like the upgrade felt that good in the end, particularly how loose it felt with the cover attached, and the cover going over the edges, making it far less ergonomic and irritating.
But for a lower price, I would make the switch. Gosh would it be awesome if they added a Smart Keyboard version for the mini. Logitech also has a smaller keyboard for that mini frame, Apple can sure do it, too. Not asking for the ridiculous wish of adding a touchpad as well, because there's no space for that.

For as long as they keep Touch ID, reversing the panel orientation would definitely be a great idea. Because if someone really wants to be productive on that thing (as much as one can on iOS, ha), just connect up a monitor and a keyboard and mouse.

If only the EU laws would extend to the iPad as well. Imagine a fully-featured Chrome with extensions, dev tools etc. You enter any Airbnb with a screen, you are fully set up for actual work with a 7.9-inch handset.

The other thing I forget about is the aspect ratio change from Mini 5 to Mini 6, which to me is a downgrade

Man Apple wears me out anymore.

They so rarely seem to make anything new or updated that I end up considering a clear overall "win" -- it's always with tradeoffs or some strange drawbacks (and higher and higher pricing)

I still hang onto my mid-2015 MBA 11" for productivity reasons. I wish I could upgrade to something but there is nothing that keeps my level of mobility the same.
Monterey is my last exit on that one but I also still have a 2019 iMac 27" with 128GB RAM which does the heavy lifting when at home.
That thing is a beast even with an Intel processor. Best thing of Sonoma for me is the web apps integration.

I think there's a market for mini-sized laptops, mini iPads and the mini iPhone, and quite low-hanging fruit ready for the harvest.
Not sure what really keeps them from occasionally shaking the apple tree. I guess the main issue is that their biggest market (China) does not really favour small form factors.

Ooh-ooh- Shiny new, shiny new!

I'm interested in iPads since I am still rocking 2018 era iPad Pros. That said, I don't know what Apple could do to make me want more than my 2018 iPad Pro (1TB). It's still powerful enough for everything I do with it. It lives its life as a digital notebook (GoodNotes/Notability) a Podcast Editing Machine (Ferrite Pro) and a travel companion (YouTube, Netflix etc.). It's buttery smooth for all of those uses and M1/M2 weren't even slightly tempting as upgrades, so I'm not sure what M3 would offer either. Still - it might be time, so let's see!
Couldnt agree more. My battery isnt amazing these days but it is fine. I’m more concerned about pricing here in Europe. Any more than it currently is and I’m out. £1,300/€1,500+ for the base 12.9in is a joke.

I don’t see a landscape orientation camera coming.

Apple will want to keep costs down by continuing with the same chassis and simply replace display and chips.

Does not the M3 run warmer than the M2 and would this be a problem for the MacBook Air 13 and 15?
I was under the impression that the performance cores would because they are capable of pulling more while retaining the same node process, so more heat at peak performance (for better burst performance, similar to Turbo mode on the Intel chips) - yet it should also be the case that with light usage, there would be no difference because that would keep the performance cores inactive and the power efficiency cores at work.
