new macbook battery problem

just got my new macbook and when i plugged it in to charge, the indicator shows that it is charging for a second or two then goes back to battery power. i've tried changing outlets, but nothing seems to be working. any suggestions?

What percentage charged is the battery?

Try shutting it down - remove the battery and connect the charger. Then start up - charger should glow green.

Does the MacBook start up or not ??

alright went to my apple store and found out that i had a bum cord
got a new one and it works fine, thanks guys :]
