Hey,
I am about to place the order for a new HDD to replace my to-small 60GB stock macbook drive... for my 1.83ghz Rev A Macbook...

I have narrowed down to these two:

1) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3281096&CatId=1277
Western Digital 160GB Scorpio, 5400Rpm, 8mb,
Average seek = 12ms
Average Latency = 4.2 ms
Priced at 109.99$ Cdn

2)
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2967447&CatId=2676
Hitachi Travelstar 5k160, 160Gb, 5400 Rpm, 8mb
Average Seek = <11ms
Average Latency = 5.51 ms
Priced at 115.99$

The real question is what are the Ave. Seek time, and what is the Ave. Latency and based on above, which drive do i want?

The hitachi has perpendicular recording, i dont know what that means...
Does anyone have these? are they noisey? or a battery drain?

Right now i am leaning for the WD Scorpio..
Can someone verfy and second me? or argue against it?

Just take a look at the links pls..
