Anyone know when the new MacBook will be on display in the Apple Store?

I'm glad someone asked; I have no idea, but I'm very anxious to find out! I'm sure by April 10, they will be there. I'm just hoping there will be a much closer date D:

Yea I wish we had more information. If I knew best buy would get it opening day I may order through there with movers coupon.

probably the big IT names will have this earlier and beginning with April we will se reviews already

it will be there april 10 when it releases, i don't really know of any instance where they have shown off a product prior to release in store but that could be wrong just going off recent memory

some things are clear...that 8 GB RAM standard will help with tasks, i really enjoy that.
The new trackpad is a bless, something great goes even greater with more gestures and more customisations. The keyboard backlit is great and the keyboard itself is ok but you must get used to because the travel feel is changed
The screen is great

So there you go some half review based on specs and hands-on

Has Apple ever announced a release date for a product without a preorder date, and then announced/opened pre orders before the launch?

It will be available for you to check out on April 10th. Professional reviews will come out a couple of days sooner.

The manager of my local Apple Store, said they would get no demo models early, just inventory arriving on the 9th for sale on the 10th.

He also mentioned that interest in his store has been much higher than he anticipated. Over a hundred people have already stopped in looking to preorder. I asked if MacBook Air sales have declined in expectation, and he said they've actually risen slightly.

My guess is people holding out for that elusive 11" rMBA are probably opening their pocketbooks.

From the sound of it, he is expecting all three lines to perform very well for his store.

Gosh, that's shocking, considering the product is "garbage" and "disgusting" and "an insult to the computing world" ... according to the comments by the minority of naysayers on here. LOL

I'd predict this is the most popular laptop launch in Apple's history.

I do very much hope that I can wake up on the 10th and order for in-store pickup. I would imagine they'd do it since the stores are already going to be flooded on the 10th with those wanting to see\touch\try on the new Apple Watch. I guess for a media spectacle it makes sense to have both dates as the 10th for the Macbook on-sale and the Watch in-store unveiling.

They'll be the unhappy and unrealistic who assumed that Apple can defy the laws of physics and give them a Quad i7 in the same chassis and/or don't understand how the performance of the Core-M will likely stack up.

Jumping to assumptions based on a spec sheet is much more fun that real hands on experience and facts though, eh?

Bless them.

Quite possibly, but no more unrealistic than those who were, and still are, sure that Apple could give them a retina display in the current MBA chassis without giving up battery life. It's an internet forum phenomenon.

I will not go as far as to say this will be Apple's most popular laptop. I believe the MacBook Air line will be the most popular. However, in the near future (2-3 years) the rMB will become the norm for many people because it fits all their needs for portability and commuting.

The Macbook Air line has no future. Or in other words, it's future is already here and it's called the Macbook.

Yeah, they just make me chuckle. My Toyota isn't going to win the Indy 500 but it works just fine. LOL

really should have been a question mark there. misleading OP..
Oh come on, it wasn't intentional...if I REALLY were trying to say that I had actually seen the new macbook in stores, I would have ended it with multiple exclamation points!!!!!

To avoid any future heart palpitations, I edited the thread title...:D
