For me it's all about the 13" form factor -- but if you don't mind the 15" and are doing a bunch of graphics work, I guess I'd say the MBP is okay. Otherwise, go for the slick unibody MB!

I don't have issue with negative opinions on the new notebook. But honestly bashing it anytime there is a positive or neutral comment is ridiculous. So I chime in with positive comments.

As a long time lurker, occasional poster on MR, I look to the boards for a balanced commentary -- these never ending loops don't help.

I see a lot of balance from those who give great reviews on the new one and those who don't. A lot of people bash the previous gen Macbook and some who love it. I own a previous gen Macbook, but I don't get my panties in a wad when others bash it. I honestly could careless what some anonymous internet person thinks of my computer. I like it and that is what counts. No reason to take others complaints as a personal shot. If I don't care for a particular poster, I use the ignore feature. Then I don't have to read their posts.

I can see where you are coming from, but it is a message board and people will say things you or I think are stupid and full of BS. The best advice is to move past their posts or better yet just put them on ignore. Sometimes I need to take my own advice here because I get mad at stupidity (what I see as stupid) or when people throw out wrong info and I respond with sarcasm sometimes.

Congrats on your new computer. They are pretty nice, but with anything there will be some who don't like it and some who do.
