New macbook pro 13'' isight low resolution

Just bought my first macbook pro but I have been disappointed by the quality of the camera , when chatting or using photo booth the images lack of definition and color.
Is there a problem with my macbook or all macbooks have such low quality camera.
I have been reading similar threads to address this problem an understood that the camera is 1.3 mp but is set to .3 mp.
Is this correct? if so how can I change the settings?
