New MacBook Pro 13"

Use mainly for MS Office, Genealogy, Astrology, and watching films. Would 8Gb RAM enough...will Not video edit or extensive photo adjustments.

Definitely. I doubt you will ever get close to maxing out the ram for the foreseeable future with the workload.

You might even want to consider the MacBook when it is updated soon.

I too think 8GB would be enough, it certainly seems so on my MBP. On the other hand, just as you can't be too rich or too thin, if it's easily possible for you financially then you can't have too much RAM.
