Hi,

I purchased a new 2019 13 inch Macbook Pro from Best Buy.
Specifically because I wanted to stay on Mojave as as use my IMac
as a screen which you can't do with the 2020 model.

This is the model, with 16gb Ram and 1TB hard drive.

I did check the system info and the battery has a cycle count of 4.

I can't recall if when I first powered it on there was a battery issue
as I used it with the charger but I noticed it was loaded with 10.14.4.
and I wanted to update it to 10.14.6. I update it using the combo updater.

At some point, I turn on show percentage and see 0% on the battery and not charging.

Energy saver, says "replace now"

I've tried an SMC reset, no luck. Any ideas?

As mentioned in the other thead, you seem to have a faulty battery. Replacement at Apple or AASP should be covered under warranty.

Had a related issue with a 2019 16" machine where 2 of the 4 usb-c ports fried one day. No charging, no data, no nada just one side of the machine with totally dead ports. Since I think you only have two ports, do the ports work for data that won't charge?

Apple replaced my machine no questions asked, but gave little reason why this happened. SMC NVRAM resets did nada.

Got mine back from repair today. It was the battery, so I guess you want it replaced as well.
