Actually I don't have courage to throw another 625 dollars on this computer, the quality is too low, I am afeard it would dead again after fixing.
My 2011 15 inch MacBook Pro is still working.

And again, basic probability. The 2011 indeed have (proven) significantly higher failure rates then other models — there was even an extended warranty issues by Apple. You got lucky with one computer and unlucky with another one.

Yesterday the apple store phoned to me that they have replaced the logic board, but the MacBook still can't turn on. They will order another logic board to try.

I already post my experience on apple customer forum. But the post was deleted after three days. They sent a E-mail to me as follow:

Sorry to hear about your ordeal!

A very similar thing happened to me, and I am compelled to share because of the amazing service that I (luckily) have had from Apple. I bought my 15" touch bar mac the same month as you have. Suddenly out of nowhere, my mac died last week. not charging, not responding whatsoever.

I took it to an authorized apple repair store in Toronto. They looked into it and billed me 1500 dollars for a logic board replacement with tax and service charge. On top of that, I also cracked the screen for which, they had quoted me 1200 for the complete display assembly replacement + tax. Furthermore, the CMD key button completely stopped functioning and a few of the keys were highly unresponsive from time to time.

At that point, I would rather dump my computer in the trash than fix it cuz it is legit cheaper to buy a completely new one. The solution they provided at the store was to call Apple. I picked up the phone, there was a really nice gentleman on the other side who listened to my whole story. I told them I used apple for the last 15 years, didn't bother getting AppleCare cuz Apple is known for its durable products. They put me on hold for about 20 minutes and finally a senior manager reached out. He was able to get me a hall pass to fix the system. Long story short Apple is footing the bill as I am currently waiting to get the system back within a week!

This is awesome for you and yet so inconsistent from Apple.
I wish Apple treated all their customers like this :D

I called Apple support, they can't help me, ask me go to apple store and talk to the manager again.

This is why i warn people about purchasing new apple products, and the only reason why im still using my 2015 15", it was honestly the last true mac book pro. Have the ports and quality, none of that breaking down after a year.

I'm not defending their actions, but its their forum and they have very strict rules of what you can and cannot post. They're typically very quick in removing posts that run afoul of the rules.

Bummer on the issues you're having however :(

I have always found it better to buy AppleCare and I always use an American Express credit card which doubles the manufacturer warranty. That gets me the best coverage for these types of issues.

It is very unfortunate to have a failure quickly after warranty, but the warranty is the only protected period. If you can't afford to have a failure then you have to add coverage to mitigate against the possibility of the loss. Otherwise, you're depending on manufacturer goodwill which may or may not be an option for you or go as far as you feel it should.

This is why Apple sells Apple Care and so do third parties... They are optional though as if you feel you can self insure or whatnot then you can do so.

You see the same complaint over at Luxury car dealers like Mercedes where people are quick to complain that their car now needs an expensive repair and the warranty just ended a week or two ago and that the dealer should cover it for free...

How long should this "hidden free extended warranty" last? Is it 1 day after the warranty ends? 1 week? 1 year?

If this hidden free period exists why not just extend the warranty to exactly that "hidden free extended warranty" period so all customers know about it?

I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this...

I have always found it better to buy AppleCare and I always use an American Express credit card which doubles the manufacturer warranty. That gets me the best coverage for these types of issues.

This is key. American Express is great in that they extend the combined manufacturers warranty and extended warranty as well. So you end up with a 2 year warranty on a MBP w/o Apple Care or a 4 year warranty on a MBP w/ Apple Care when purchased via Amex.

The OP should confirm they don't have any coverage under the CC used for purchase.
