What has been people's experience with using the migration assistant for setting up a new Mac when the old one is a G4 and the new one is an Intel CPU?

I don't run any input hacks like SIMBL or anything like that. There's basically only one user (me). I do have a lot of preferences that I'd like to keep, and a fair bit of third party applications that I'll want to move over (Office especially).

[Edit: I should mention I have a fair bit of X11 stuff installed via Fink too. I can always reinstall that stuff myself if needed though.]

Depends. You might just want to create an image of your old machine and use it to image the new one
