I sure hope so! Geez, I upgraded cuz I was running a 12" PB. I would say you still have 2-3 years at least of good use unless you own a money tree as well.
 
I just did my iMac G5 (2nd Rev) to compare since I'm getting a MBP as soon as I can. I got 1179, which is an improvement over the Powerbooks you guys are talking about (it should be!), can't believe I'm going to have a laptop that is gonna be almost 3x as powerful as a desktop I bought less than 2 years ago.

Just shows how much power there is in the new Intel chips compared to the PPC. 😱

You see the white area to the right of the address bar in your browser? It allows you to perform what we on the Internets call "searches", using a tool named "Google", a widely used "search engine".

If, instead of typing in those six words as a forum post, you had typed "geekbench" into this "search box", and hit Return on your keyboard, your browser would have displayed a page of "search results". The very first of those "search results" would have given you the answer to your question. And it all would have taken less than a second of your time!

Not too bad I guess considering it's 2-3 years old, bit annoyed that a core duo mac mini is almost as powerful lol. I guess it really shows how powerful the Intel processors are and have we've progressed.

I've got a MBP 2.2GHz SR on the way too, so I'm happy lol.

With basic surfing and IM I would probably say you've got at least a dependable 4 hours on the "normal" setting with the screen on the third from brightest setting. I always plug in for my pro apps, so no idea for battery life on that.

Looks like the intel procesossors are a Great improvement with the 3.0GHz Intel Quads going at 5581, and the 8 Core 3.0GHz getting a an impressive 8684! Waiting for my SR MBP to arrive in the post and since it scores 3222 it rivals my G5Quad at 3351!!! Oh the POWER! PORTABLE POWER!, I am so happy.
Now just have to wait until the Octopuss MacPros cost as much as the high-end Quads of today and I'm in.
 
Slightly OT, but if the latest generation of MBP's are known as Santa Rosa or SR models, what moniker are the previous generation known by? C2D for Core 2 Duo, right?
