so now that the battery and hard drive are accessible, can i now go to futureshop/best buy and purchase a bigger hard drive and slip it in my new macbook pro?
 
The hard drive is easily user accessible now so have at it. I wouldn't hurt to look over the user manual as well.
 
The big deal for me is you can swap drives out so that if you have to send it in for warranty service, you can just swap the original back in, and not have to worry about the security of your data.
