Untrue. Your adapter still consumes a tiny bit of electricity even if it's not plugged into the MBP.

Measure it, if you can. You might come up with 2 cents worth per year. You'd do much better to turn off a single light.

Yes it will not be a lot. But it will be a bit. My message was to the OP that instead of doing strange things (like repeated charging and discharging for no apparent reason) he could actually do something that makes sense, ie. saving electricity.
