Available for pre-order now?
Looks like a placeholder.
I don't even get it... There ISN'T a processor that goes with Montevina that is 2.6GHz.
IT"S ALL FAKE.
And a 15" at $2700?! Yeah, right.
I'm glad we feel the same way. Just looking at the specifications of the hardware is more then enough.
Why fake? Amazon isn't really known for pulling these kinds of hoaxes, are they...
I don't even get it. On the Amazon page, I just see the current MBP, nothing else. But in any case, it would be veeerrrryy strange that Amazon, T-Mobile Germany or anybody else than Apple announces the new MBP ...
So I'm assuming you WANT the MacBook Pro to jump in price by $700, then?
There is NO processor that goes with Montevina that is 2.6 GHz.
It's listed as having the 8600M GT. Apple isn't keeping that.
So wtf is this all about??
Looks like a plain mix-up to me.
It's a BTO version of the current model that's sold as a stock model. This isn't the first time.
That or it's a placeholder for a future model.
Reading Eidorian's first post in this thread pretty much covers it.
I keep on wanting to think that, but I can't see Amazon's site designers having a folder of pictures of mock-ups of MB's that they could "accidentally" post on the actual Amazon website...
Built To Order. Like the Apple site.
Built To Order
It's this one. The Built to Order 15.4 in. w/ 2.6 Ghz 2 gigs RAM and a 250 GB HD.
Apple's price for that is the same.
Amazon did screw up by saying "This item has not yet been released."
They just hinted at the upcoming updates not the specs.
Bachman-Turner Overdrive, duh. Learn your Canadian Rock music.
Well excuse me for not TCB and getting updated with my know-how.
I screwed up! Delete thread!!!
Sorry for wasting your valuable time
The page has Error 500'D. It was a fake, people. Apple Legal did NOT take it down.
Ooh it's Prime eligible.
Anyways, it's the same specs are the current top of line model which is that price.
However the Montevina Peryn does not have a 2.6GHz, only a 2.53GHz and a 2.8GHz, so this is just a false alarm.
Fake? Do you mean erroneous? Why would Amazon fake something?
No, I meant the original page with the German mockup of the "new" MacBook Pro.
Bottom line is, there IS no newer version of the MBP on that page. It's the current model. There's nothing on the page to suggest it's a newer model, only that it's not yet released by Amazon, not Apple. I don't see the purpose for this thread at all.
