I was looking at getting either the 13.3 with the 2.53 or a 15.4 with a 3.06, does anyone have both I am trying to see if there is a huge difference with the 13.3 2.53 over my 13.3 uMB 2.4 from early 2009.

I am also looking at getting a refurbished 15.4 with the 2.93 or a new uMPB 15 with a 3.06 but I am not sure the extra cash is worth the new one, except for battery, as I do not care about the SD card slot and I can save $300 on a refurbished unit

I just do not know if the screens are way better on the new MBP over the early 2009 MBP or MB

I don't have both as I only have the 13" MBP but I can assure you that 2.4-to 2.53Ghz and 2.93-3.06 won't be any difference regardless what work you will be doing on it. Even if you will be doing a lot of encoding the 100Mhz difference in all these processors will barely show a difference of even 3 seconds.

I would get the 15" 2.93Ghz refurb if that's the screen size you need. If you want the 13" then get the new MBP, the previous model had a very poor screen and was updated just 2 months prior to the current ones. It will be a crapshoot getting one with the updated screen.
